According to sealevelrise.org, In the last decade, the speed at which New York's sea level is rising has increased and is now rising by as much as 1 inch every 7 years. Around Battery Park, it took the sea level 48 years to rise by 6 inches. Scientists forecast that in just the next 14 years, the sea level will have risen another 6 inches.
Will this problem get any better any time soon? Or will it be like what the scientists predicted, and eventually, one day, NYC will be flooded?
In this project, I would like to explore this issue and create an experience where people get to see and feel what it is like to live in a flooded NYC and hopefully raise awareness of this issue.
